PMP exam fee and membership

Hello Guys,

Fisrt of all I am so gratefull to PMZILLA team that they have created such a nice medium to interact for those who are o the same page.

2nd I m planning to give exam in June mid and need to register for the exam and take athe final date.

I will be completing my 35 hours of training in April,which is costing me 17k in pune.

I just want wanted to confirm how much the examination fee is now in INR.Although I have gone through PMI and their fee structure but If i take the membership and for that the additional amount which need to be paid,Will be benificial? Or I should register for the exam as a non member.

Please suggest me..What should i do?

You should defnitely go for PMI membership. You will save very little money when you appear for PMP certification without membership. However there are advantages of membership. You get free pdf copy of PMBOK5 latest edition and access to good collection of PMP books and chirstopher scordo PMP prep book which has 18 mock tests.

If a member fails the certification on first attempt he still enjoyed the discount during second attempt.

If you have already not paid for the PMP class, I suggest you to rethink your decision. There are classes available for less than 10k or you can also opt for PM prepcast online video session which is available for around 10k and you can watch the lessons on demand unlike the bootcamp.

I am also appearing for PMP exam in end of may 2015. I am a member and I paid around 9k for PMI membership and 26k for scheduling the PMP certification. without member you have to pay around 36k.

My application was selected for audit and cleared it successfully. Now i am starting my preparations from tomorrow. I have subscribed for PM Prepcast which gives me 50+hours of video training and 35 contact hours. I have also purchased PMP exam simulator which has 1800 mock questions.

I am from bangalore. Please let me know if you need more information on PMP exam.

You have really cleared my delima about the membership..2nd..No i have not paid for the class yet..as was suppose to take in the april was holding for one more week but in this case..I believe I can go for online as u suggested..

Any good suggetion for online class from you?e

Hi Nisha,

I am happy that your confusion is cleared. You can choose between Izenbridge online video course (around 6k) and PM Prepcast (around 10k and this price only for this month). Both the course will provide you the required 35 contact hours and both the course have excellent feedbacks.  I purchased pm prepcast 2 days back and I started watching it from today.

I suggest you to visit both the pages and view the sample videos. also visit their forum to read lessons learnt from those who have passed the PMP exam using the online course. you can also search in youtube and you will find many videos from both the providers.

I wanted to follow up to oorvashe's post about getting Christopher Scordo's PMP prep book with the 18 mock tests for being a PMI member. I am a PMI member preparing for the PMP, how do I obtain my copy of Scordo's book?

you can find free reference material under ereads & Reference section at pmi.org website. Please note you have to be a member to access this online material.

click on the link to access the christopher scordo material directly with your pmi username and password. you should be a active PMI member to access this material.

There are two other important things to be taken into considerations:

1. PMP exam eligibility which gives you a date (365 days) by which you should pass the exam in not more than 3 attempts.
2. PMI membership which saves your cost in the exam fee and re-examination fee. The membership fee is applicable for a year.

Recently one of my student came to me saying his PMP exam eligibility will last only till 5th April 2015 and he is not well prepared for the exam. I just said, wait for year and then start from zero again.

Morel of the story:
Apply for PMP exam eligibility and membership only when you are sure to give the PMP exam in a month time. This will keep your exam eligibility for a year and hence, even if you fail you still have time to prepare and try again. Ofcourse with PMI membership you also save cost for re-exam fee.

Give it a thought when you would like to apply for PMP exam.

Yes..You are right..I was confused about it..for taking the date..But guess now will take it..once I am well prepared.

Targeting June end..but will finak decide after a month.
