Strictly knowing the 42 processes from the PMBOK is insufficient for passing the exam and understanding project management the PMI way.  What Rita has done is, throuhg her experience and knowledge (albeit in her somewhat sarcastic way) is help establish a true relationship between the process steps so that you occomplish more than just memorization but a new way of thinking, a new sense of logic of how projects should come together.  Each process actually has a ton of stuff going on between them, around them, and through them, and by really making the effort to understand Rita's chart, the pieces of the puzzle fit together better. 

In reality, the PMBOK chart in its current form leaves a lot out, i.e. at first glance you would not know the close relationship Executing has with Monitor and Control, or that the plannig processes are iterative in nature.  Just remember, her method of helping you to pass the test is to change your approach and fill in your "knowledge gaps", of which her chart does just that.
