PMP Exam tips

Greetings,

I've just passed the PMP exam on my first try. I'm posting a few study tips:
1 - Enroll in a PMP course. Ask around, or check your local PMP chapter, for a credible training provider
2 - Make sure you have the right prep material. I used McGraw-Hill Education PMP Project Management Professional Exam and I'm very happy with my choice. I also used the PMBOK as a reference.
3 - Prepare a study plan - It definitely helped me to organize my time and prioritize study time.

Best of luck

Getting your PMP certification is a challenging task. Assuming you have done or die situation and wants to clear the exam in one week, I would suggest the followings.

Make an 8-hour schedule per day
  • Make you study session no longer than 3~4 hours so you can stay focused
  • Study Rita Exam Preparation Handbook  - 4 hours per day
  • Cram the Inputs Outputs Tool & Techniques from PMBOK and write them as much as you can - 2 hours every day
  • Practice Mathematical Formulas from all chapters and prepare a summary of them for revision before the exam, preferably use Head First book for mathematical questions - 1 hour per day
  • Final 1 hour - Practice exam simulation using Rita FastTrack software
If you have a basic understanding of Project Management prior to above and you follow these medicated tips efficiently I can congratulate you in advance on passing the exam.
