Passed PMP 4th May
Dear All,
I cleared PMP on my First attempt yesterday and i must say it has been a interesting experience preparing for it.
My main sources of preperation are listed below
1) Rita Mulcahy 6th edition
2) Training provider's notes
3) PMBOK
I read rita around 3 times until i understood the concepts. I did not memorize any ITTO just understood the process flow.
Just make sure to remember the formulas for EVM. They can get confusing sometimes.
I read PMBOK just one week before the exam. But by then i knew most of the stuff in PMBOK except for some knowledge gaps .
For tests i did the following
1) Rita Fast track all knowledge topics - scored between 75-85% throughout
2) Headfirst Free exam - 76%
3) Oliver 175 - 74%
4) PM Study Mock exam - 84%
5) RITA superpmp- 90%
I think PMstudy is the closest to the actual exam and if you can manage above 75% there you are good to go.
I also made sure to DE-BRIEF the wrong answers and understand why i went wrong.
The actual exam was simple with mostly 2-3 sentences question with short asnwer options. SOme of the questions had tricky answers so make sure you use elimination techniques wisely
I finished the exam in 3 hours with 2 breaks after 100th and 200th question. Last one hour i reviewed ALL my answers making the necessary corrections
My scores are as follows
Initiating - Moderately Proficient
Planning- Proficient
Executing-Proficient
M&C-Proficient
Proff & social Resp- Below Proficient
All in all a very good learning experience writing this exam.
Thanks all for sharing your exam experiences which proved to be very useful to me
All the best to others attempting it
Regards
Shankar
