Gantt chart vs Milestone chart

 Which is the right tool to report to management/senior management. In PMBOK it says as Gantt chart/bar charts where as Rita says it is Milestone chart. Which one should we use?

 I see this question very often in lot of mock tests. Is there a difference between "management" and "Snior management" when the question is worded. Becasue it seems the Mile stone charts are used for Senior management reporting as per Rita and Gantt chart are used  for reporting to management.  How to approach this question.

High level or summary charts like Milestone charts are for managment / Sr. Management and lower level details like in Gantt are for Project team, sponsor and stakeholders directly linked to project.

 Admin..but the PMBOK says Gantt charts are used for management reporting. Which is right from exam point of view.
