Postponed Until September 26th

I was scoring 80% in the Andy Crowe 'How to Pass on Your First Try' exams.
Took the first 100 questions of the PMStudy free test and had scored 50% at the half-way point.
What a wake-up call.
I panicked and re-scheduled (I was set to take it this Monday, the 29th).
I think I need to really get a better grasp of the PMBOK - I'll take the risk on the new exam material.
Anyone else in the same boat?
BTW, are there any free resources regarding the new questions?
How soon do you think we'll be getting reports?
John

I might be in similar boat.
I might be in similar boat. I am scheduled for 30th Aug 6 pm toronto.
Started my serious prep like 15 days ago. And have read Rita's 3 times and many chaps (not all) from PmBok around 2 times. Still need to memorize ITTO.
Logged into the forum today and heard everyone singing praises for PmStudy tests. So, 3 hrs ago, I bought one test and just finished it with 77% in close to 3 hrs.
I am in two minds now as took the PmStudy test without proper revision or any planning nor memorizing ITTO or my key notes. I still have 2 more days to revise all the chaps and memorize ITTO, but then 77% is not a very convincing score.
Not sure if I mus rescheudle or not :(.

Hi Aditya, No need to
Hi Aditya, No need to postpone your exam your scoring good. Try to take one more PMstudy exam and if you have similr score go for it man.
Never mind memorizing ITTO's itsnt worth it. Better read PMBOK once again you will be more prepared than memorizing ITTO's.
Next time before giving PMstudy exam (if you plan to give one) please read your key notes and give the exam. After the exam yuo wil have idea how good is your keynotes and based on your results you might add some more to it which will help you for the final exam.
If you have time, Please read HR from Rajesh Nair's notes or Jimmy Owens pdf on HR whcih is available on the net. This wil really help you in the exam better read these along with your notes before giving your final mock test of your choice either PMstudy or anyone. You will see the diffrence in score.
Best Luck mate my suggestion give only one mock test if time permits based on your preparation and rest of the time should go in reading PMBOK once at least before the exam.
Last not the least read Professional Ethics & Resp from PMI website before attempting the final exam.
Best Luck Adita for your prepration and for your exam tooo
.

Satish

Planning to schedule in last week of Sept 11
My application is expiring on 29th Sept 11.
Unfortunatley i was unable to clear my PMP since in 2 attempt coz i did not go thru PMBOK 4th Edition.
Only :
1.Rita & Head first in 01st attempt.
2.Rita fastrack in 02nd attempt.
Finally i decided to go only thru PMBOK and enrolling in PMSTUDY as it contains good material to revise after PMBOK.
Please advice so as to pass PMP in my last & final attempt.

My advise
Aditya,
A colleague of mine cleared PMP exam on 16th Aug 2011. His PMStudy score was 68%. Just look into the weak knowledge areas and process group of yours. Don't waste your time in memorizing ITTO.
In your case, probably you would have peaked (i.e. 80% + scores) next week. So you are just 3-4 days short of optimum, but in necessary level to clear. If your scores from other mock tests are also in same range, it means you've attained a level of stability. I'd advise you to take your test.
Good Luck.
Sameer,
Read the PMBOK three times. People don't clear the exam without the PMBOK. On the other hand I know many experienced PM's that didn't refer to Rita's books. I hope you get my point.
I must make a point that many of "tips and tricks" of Rita's book would get you a wrong answer in exam. Only iof you read PMBOK you would have spotted such inconsistencies.
One month is a very long time. If you are a PM it would help. Read PMBOK and take mock tests that provides a feedback with explanation of wrong answers. Besk of luck.

There is one small thing
There is one small thing although the results wont be given till the mid october neither at the prometric center nor on your mail. PMI people are kinda upgrading the systems from 31stAug to mid Oct. That means you can give the exam but you will come to about the results after mid Oct.

John, I was on the same
John, I was on the same path..... I scored 66% on the pmstudy test two days prior to my scheduled exam and I freaked out. I tried to re-schedule but since I was within the 48 hour window of time they wouldn't allow it. Yikes. So I sat for the exam and passed. You will too. Good luck!!!!
