Configuration Management

 I know configuration managemnt system is subset of Project Management Information system. Change control is subset of Configuration system. But still completely not able understand the concept and failing with those questios. Any one please explain the difference with real time example with information on Configuration identification, Configuration status account and Configuration inspection & audit. Thanks in advance.

 configuration managemnt system is subset of Project Management Information system ---- It is a wrong quote.

configuration management system is a subsystem of overall Project Management system.

it is very simple 

in your hardware making project -- you decide some components with some identifications. -  planning, it configuration identification.

keeping record/progress etc is Configuration status account 

their verification / validation /  - is Configuration inspection & audit
