Project Life cycle and project management process group

The relationship between project life cycle phases and project management process group is best described as:

1. they are unrelated, incompatible concepts.
2. process group interact within a project phase and also may cross the project phase.
3. they are the same concept described by different term to satisfy application area extensions.
4. Phases cross process groups such that closing one process group provides an input to initiating the next phase.

please provide the right answer.

Options 1 and 3 can be eliminated straightaway.

I think Option 4 is correct.
Completion of Closing process group can provide deliverable which provides input to the next phase.
Eg.Design and Build Phase

Option 2 - I think is wrong because process groups are normally defined within the phase boundaries.

What is the source of this question?

BTW when is your exam Nabs?

correct answer is 2.
i also clicked 4 but now i m thinking since there are overlapping phases as well so not necessary output of one will be input of another phase.
my friend gave me some exam questions i think he got it from his pmp workshop.
my exam is on 2nd July :\
