Typical vs Atypical in EV

Typical - No variances. No variances will occur in the FUTURE. BAC/CPI(cumu)
Atypical - Variances has occured but will not occur in the FUTURE. AC + (BAC - EV)cO
Please correct me if my interpretation is wrong.
